Book Review: Insurgent

First of all, INCREDIBLE book! Insurgent is the second book in the "Divergent" Series/Trilogy... Thing. I have no idea if it's going to be a series or trilogy. This book picks up right after the fight between Dauntless and Abnegation, though the Dauntless were under a simulation so technically it is a fight between the Erudite and Abnegation. Tris and Tobias and the gang that survived the attack (Uriah! WOOT WOOT!) are all currently residing in Amity H.Q. So that's how the book is begun. There ya go. *SPOILERS AHEAD*
I think this book was great because you had NO idea what was going to happen. Like. At. All. I was praying the entire time that my favorite characters (Tris, Tobias, Uriah and Lynn.) were going to survive. There was so much action, and so much was learned about Tobias' past it just killed me. The Candor truth serum scene? OH. MY. FACTIONS. Amazingly done and amazingly written. I also loved how the new characters that were introduced (Hector/Hec, Evelyn, etc.) never once left your mind. Everyone, even the tiniest characters had so much importance! And woah. Tris' giving herself up to Jeanine/Erudite H.Q. was amazing. Tobias following her? Giving himself up to save her? AHHH!!! TO. MANY. FEELS. When she was in the simulation where she was strapped down onto the table and was watching Tobias kill himself to give her up even though he was still alive and watching her flipping out outside of the simulation? Wow. I give a trillion gold stars to Veronica Roth. I cannot wait for the next book and I'm sooo happy I convinced myself to read this book.

Do I suggest this book? Uh. Duh. Well, only if you've read Divergent.

Sherlock and More!

Recently I have had quite a bit of stuff going on! So I FINALLY have something to blog about!!

First: I turned thirteen!! Yay! I am officially a teenager!.. Not sure how I feel about that. Moving on.

Second: I have decided to turn this blog into a mainly writing and reading blog. It will drive me to do more writing and such. Also, I will start doing book reviews on here so that way I can have a place to EXPLODE when Rick Riordan releases Mark of Athena and I read it in three or four hours. NICO. COME BACK TO MEEEE!!!! Ehem. Excuse me.

Third: Sound of Music is starting on Monday!! Which means I get to see a bunch of people I LOOOVE for about two months nearly everyday!!! YAYYYY!!!!!!

Fourth: This blog post has to be about something, so here is the actual post:

Sherlock!

YAAAYYYY SHERLOCK!!! Booo Netflix >:(
Recently I have become interested in a show called: Sherlock!!! (See left)
Sherlock is basically a modernized version of Sir Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. I LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. the actors though! I think they are amazing (Martin Freeman!? NEW BILBO BAGGINS?!! Uh. Yes please.) and I find it frightening that I think a 36 year old British man is gorgeous. hehe. Excuse my fangirl. Benedict Cumberbatch! (Sherlock Holmes) YAYYYY!!! I have seen the first three episodes and dumb Netflix refuses to give me any more. >:( Any advice? Comment below!

Stay Lovely!

It's 2 am and I cannot sleep....

I promised my friend, Mason, I would blog again. So here ya go, I suppose!

I cannot sleep. It is two am and I am the only one awake in my house. I have this idea that I really should blog and I decided that I would blog about just what ever pops into my head at the moment, because honestly all the writing I have been doing I am to worried to put it on here because I get easily embarrassed by the stupidest of things. I also worry that something think is good, adults and other people will think it is stupid and juvenile and I don't want that to happen. I am happy I am human and not a robot, because humans can emote and robot's can't. Except cool robots like the ones on Phineas and Ferb. I always worry people will think I am weird because I like that show and I am nearly thirteen and it is really made for little kids, but my friend Mason (the one who wanted me to post on here) watches it all the time and he is like three years older than me. We quote it and stuff because we are geeks and not afraid to admit it! WOOT WOOT! Also, I saw an amazing quote today by Walt Disney, that was about children being children and not worrying about what others should think of them. So go Walt Disney! I love rain. And Peace Tea. And sitting outside reading books with a flashlight at 10 o'clock at night. I love my friends. My best friends. Marlowe and Kennedy. I love being weird, but sometimes I think people think I should be put in a mental institution. Hehe. Just a slight reminder this is what goes through my head at two am in the morning. I apologize for not putting the dots in between the two words (am), alas I am sometimes lazy like that. I am also a speed typer, and I don't like typing things that will slow me down, like two periods that abbreviate the two words ante meridiem. Ante means before and meridiem means noon. Which makes sense. There is a moth sitting in the lamp by the bookshelf and it is just sitting there. I wonder if it is sleeping. Do moths have families? Do they go back to a hive or colony or something? Do they have names? Can moth's name each other with their secret moth language.... What about dolphins? I wonder if they have names.... I mean names they give themselves not cheesy names like Dolphiny or Dolly that we give them. I'm gonna name this moth Ted. I hope it is a boy, because if it is a girl or some kind of fancy moth gender that I don't know about it may get offended. Sorry in advance if I offend you, Ted. I just found a way to edit your boards on Pinterest, which makes me happy because I made a board but I spelled something wrong and I didn't know how to change it. I was sort of ashamed of it so I never posted anything in it and it was just sitting there, mocking me. Until I deleted it just a few seconds ago. My back hurts. I got this amazing hand sanitizer today called, "Panda Pear." Get it!? Because it sounds like Panda BEAR but it smells like PEAR so they made it sound the same. I thought it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. I want these really awesome shoes my mum got in Prague/Berlin. They are amazing. But I don't know what they are called. I love everything about Europe. One Direction, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Rain, Time Riders, Big Ben, Paris, London, Ireland, England, Bookstores on Every corner, Little Towns where you can get to know anyone in a matter of minutes. I think I'm over emphasizing it a bit, but still. That's where I want to be 24/7. There is this really cool stapler sitting next to me and it is like.... clear. It's beast. I'm very worried I am throwing grammar out the window on this blog post, so please forgive me if you find any typo's. Reminder! It is 2:18 am and I am extremely bored and I am just kind of typing and seeing how this all ends up. At least I am not typing like this: hie gui$e,,,, iit-$ lIvI $t......Peter. I don't like it when people type like that. Then I get confused. Niall Horan's twitcam didn't work earlier. It made me extremely sad. There is this awesome tumblr blog called percyjacksonmoment.tumblr.com (i think) and it is epic. Go look at it. I am the creeper who gets on tumblr but doesn't have a tumblr. Ted is still sitting there. I think Ted is dead. I think you are an amazing person if you have read this entire thing. I am an extremely boring person, yet I am also hilariously random. So it is kind of funny in a not funny way if you think about it. I think Ted might have a daughter. I think he'd be the type of moth who'd have a daughter. Let's name her.... Stapler. But all of her friends call her Stape, and she is an amazing moth who loves to cook for her father, Ted. She also has a lot of friends, and her best friend is Scissors. But don't be confused, they are moths.  I really want a pancake. The only thing I really know how to do on this blog is blog.... I don't understand "Labels" and "Schedules". I gotta get back to Hogwarts. I gotta get back to schoooooool. Back to witches and wizards and magical beasts. Goblins and ghosts and magical feasts. It's all that I love and it's all that I need at Hogwarts. Hogwarts. HAHA. I'm gonna go now. I need to throw away my water bottle and read Sister's Grimm. Bye for now.

Livi

PS: Reminder! This was a totally random blog that had really now flow to it. At all.

PSS: Ted and Staple are fine. Bye.

Poetry is on the way!

Yo! I'm sorry I haven't really "upheld" my promise to try and blog every week, considering the fact that I totally forgot about this old thing last week. But I have some new poetry on the way, and I have a bit of news so just listen to how life has been the last few weeks!

Well, I recently had to re audition for dance troupe, and I made it! I'm really excited for next year, and I think it's going to be really exciting. Here are the list of people who made it: Maggie, Sharice, Emily, Channing, Isys, Daphanie, Lizzie, Mikayla, and yours truly. I hope we keep our uniforms from this year, or at least just switch tops and poms, because they cost a ton!

I got an Instagram and I would appreciate it if you followed me! I'm: bookworm08. My profile picture is of Chris and me and I'm holding up a folder thing. I'm gonna post on Versagram the blog link so hopefully more people will come and read my stuff. I have about 30 followers as of now, and it's really fun and cool. It only works on smart-phones and iPad's, so if you don't have an IG feel free to get one, because they really are fun. I'm really unhealthily obsessed. Enough said.

I started a new series this week!!! It's the "Graceling" series, following Katsa and her friend Po. Set in medieval times, Katsa is trying to figure out what to do with her power of killing. Her uncle, King Randa, uses her as his "thug" and sends her to the other lands in the Middluns to hurt or maime the other lords who don't listen to his commands. It's really good, but it's got a lot of violence in it....

I've got to go now, I'm in english again and the bell is about to ring!!! Who's got INTENSE summer fever? LIVI!!!!

Bye!

New Poetry, English Class Blogging!

Here I am, blogging in English class. Many of us had to finish a SUPER hard English quiz online (only missed four!!), and when I was done I asked her if I could blog. She said okay, because she is awesome that way. Chris is sitting next to me, trying to prove to his brother he can type a whole paper on riots in history, and I'm writing poetry on a word document. Miranda is to my right, reading the last book in The Skinjacker Trilogy, on my request. She brought it in from the library and I started freaking out... She looked at me like I was insane, which, on occasion, I am.

I know, I am a terrible person for not blogging, and I really should be, but our computer is stupid and decides to disconnect from the internet everytime I try to get on it. Thankfully, not much exciting stuff has happened. I cleaned my room, which I suppose is a pretty good accomplishment- no. I lied, my mom cleaned it while I was in Amarillo on a choir trip. We ranked highest in our region! Take that Hutch!! (aka our rival school). We had our dance recital last night, and I was in five of the ten dances, which I must admit makes me really worn out. The left and right sides of my brain are battling each other, so I feel weird, and I have an outrageous headache, so sorry if this isn't that interesting.

Last night, me and this dude Lucas were having a poetry battle over e-mail, because we are to cool for texting (Maybe). Here is my favorite poem out of six that I came up with in five minutes: (Haven't thought up a title. Suggest some in the comment box?)

A wink from his searing blue eyes,
A glint from his glasses.
A flip of her rosy red hair,
A laugh escaping her lips.

A suggestion of a good book,
A smile after a storm of peaches.
A solo escaping his throat,
A squeak of his saxophone.

My four best friends.
This is how they create my life.
This is how it is joyous.
This is how I stay whole.

In the first stanza the order goes: Chris, Lucas, Kennedy, Marlowe. In the second stanza the order is: Marlowe, Kennedy (If you read this do you get the inside joke?? :D), Chris, Lucas.

Rachel just dropped a laptop, and mine just made the loudest beeping noise ever, while everyone is taking tests. I told you computers hate me!

I have to go, we only have about ten minutes before I have to go dance.

Stay amazing,
Livi

Exciting Stuff, Ya'll!

Alright, I promised I would post some NEW YORK CITY pictures so here are a few of them!!!!

New York City was flippin amazing. I really cannot describe it in words so I suppose I'll just post pictures:

Just off my first plane ride since I was three! Decided to rock the braids in honor of the SUPERCALL Hunger Games!!
New York Times HQ!!
Soooo, we went to Planet Hollywood and they gave us a $5 off coupon and this kinda nasty black and white cookie. I sat with Aaron and his visa card was being weird so he dragged me down like 5 flights of stairs (I was in HEELS.) and got a $3 pen in the gift shop just to make sure it was still working. Then when we got back up there he told me I could keep it.... it was an interesting experience!!
UM. I SAW THIS IN TIMES SQUARE AND STARTED FREAKING OUT. People started staring at me like I was insane, so I just decided to take a picture and capture the incredibly supercall moment... Then I looked up and the rest of the group was walking away from me so I had to run.... Through Times Square. In heels. ;D
This is me before going in to see Mary Poppins on broadway! (Those are the heels I keep talking about, they hurt. A lot.) I seriously had to push little kids out of the way so I could get this picture... Haha just kidding! Just kidding! The show was alright, the little girl who played Jane didn't have a very good accent so she would either shout her lines really loudly or whisper them so quietly you couldn't hear her.... The little boy was alright, and Mary and Bert were GREAT. I would say more, but my BBF may see it in NYC next year and I don't want to ruin it ;)
These were my fantastic roomies, Makayla A. Channing H. Isys V. Hannah K. and moi! (I look terrible in this picture though, so just imagine a stick figure where I am standing ;))
There was this little figure of Pikachu in the Nintendo store, and we all went insane wanting to get picture. So, I went around the rest of the day saying I ment Pikachu.... Because I am a nerd that way :D
When we went to Radio City, we got to go onto the stage, where THE GRAMMYS HAD HAPPENED JUST A FEW WEEKS AGO!! It's apparently really rare for a tour group to get to go up there, and they only allow it like 5 times a year. So we got CRAZY lucky. It was breath-taking and exhilarating....
I got to meet a Rockette! I think her name was Lauren, but I don't really remember. . . . She was really nice and I felt short standing next to her....
This was an Abercrombie model!! There were two others outside, but it was cold so they had shirts on.... My mom was being a weirdo and asking them questions like: How often do you all take your shirts off? Is their a rotation?

So, next let us talk about something extremely amazing: THE HUNGER GAMES MIDNIGHT PREMIER! I went with my SUPACALL BBF Kennedy and got approximatly two hours of sleep, but it was totally worth it.

Well, me and Kennedy had made shirts:

OH yeshh!!!

And they were amazing. So when we got there we though the line wasn't going to be that bad... Boy were we wrong. It wrapped all the way around the building like a snake, and we ended up sitting by the dumpsters :/ But thankfully my neighbor was next to us!! So, Kennedy had to print out her ticket at "the kiosk" (I love that word) so we dropped our stuff off with my mom and ran up to "the kiosk" (hehehe). She entered her little code thing and it said it was "invalid" so we went up to the lady at "the FRONT kiosk" and asked her what was wrong and said that the ticket wasn't for this movie theatre it was for another one. So we both just kinda stood their not knowing what to do, and tried to get the lady to be nice and just give us a ticket because Kennedy paid for it, but obviously that didn't happen. So we started slugging back behind the building when we see our friend Mrs. Leslie Rundell! She's seriously only like five people from the door, and asks us where we are sitting. When we tell her we are crazy far from the front she's all: Well just come sit with us! So hoping we won't get mauled by evil teenagers mad at us for getting in front of them, we go all ninja and try to get up there as inconspicuously as possible. Putting our stuff down we finally decide to address the fact we don't know what to do about the whole ticket crisis. Mrs. Rundell has a smartphone, so we get onto Kennedy's e-mail and see if we got the conformation number right, and it turns out she bought a ticket for Harligen, Texas.... Which is like down by the Rio Grande... We begin to freak out and not know what to do until Mrs. Rundell says: "My friend has an extra ticket!" And she gives it to Kennedy. Like, no charge. So now we consider those two our saviors. Then, we just sat down for two hours outside on these weird stair things leading up to a door that goes who know's where (did I mention we got there at 8:30, for a MIDNIGHT showing?), talking about my NYC trip, her Louisiana trip, dance, LMM, and a bunch of other stuff really loudly. Finally they started letting us in at 10:30, and because Mrs. Rundell is amazing, we got really good seats because we were near the front of the line. Seriously, they were smack dab in the middle of the theatre. Perfection. Our showing didn't start until 12:20 even though it was supposed to start at 12:02 because the projector was being stupid, it was really nerve-wracking to hear the movie pounding in the theatre next to us, while we were having "technical difficulties". It finally started though, and I freaked out when I saw Josh Hutcherson, cried along with Katniss when Rue died, and loved it when Clove (my favorite bad guy tribute of the movie) attacked Katniss at the feast. I cannot wait for Catching Fire :D

Inspiration

Inspiration can come from the littlest of things. Today, for my new story "Raised Amongst the Stacks" (Title may change) came from many things. First it came from the idea that wherever you go, you can and will run into mean people. Dozens upon dozens of authors get their inspiration from things like that, or the fact that there is always that single dot of hope in the glimmer of darkness (example in the third Maximum Ride book: Saving the World and other Extreme Sports written by the second best author in the world, James Patterson). You won't always be stuck in the same situation forever, so you might as well make the most of it, such as letting things that happen roll off your back.

Don't end up the bitter old man or woman living down the street because of one simple instance, just let it go and think what I like to think when things like that happen to me: One day, when you are at the top of the world (or in my case a best selling author) they will see you on the rickety television in the corner of the McDonalds in their petty little town and think: "Boy did I screw up."

Take a walk and look past your own doorstep, the world is much worse off in other places. I hate to sound cliche, but remember you will always have SOMEONE who will be kind to you and love you. As the AMAZING J.K. Rowling once said:

"Is 'fat' really the worst thing a human being can be? Is 'fat' worse than 'vindictive', 'jealous', 'shallow', 'vain', 'boring' or 'cruel'? Not to me."

Sure, I wasn't called fat, but this quote taught me that there are much worse things than petty teenagers (I love how I'm saying that and I'm only twelve) and their shallow gossip. Thanks J.K. :)

~Be kind to those you meet on the way up, you may find them again on the way back down~
Stay amazing~

School Blogging!

Today in theatre we got a "free day" because a whole bunch of people were missing from class, so I asked and was allowed to get onto my fantabulous blog! YAY! So here are some quick updates:

Well, I'm seeing The Hunger Games at midnight tonight with my supercallll bucket buddy Kennedy Reeves!!! I am so excited, and I think I've told all of my teachers at least four or five times. The reviews from London say the movie is absolutely incredible, so I don't think I'll be very disappointed! We made shirts and I am going to post pictures of them later in the week, as well as amazing Sephora nail polish and epic gold eye shadow. Our eyes will be "Catching Fire", oooh we are so punny!

Having just auditioned once more for Lubbock Moonlight Musicals, I am waiting on pins and needles for the cast list to be sent out via e-mail. My life will come to a screeching halt until it arrives, and I am sort of freaking out MAJORLY on the inside. I cannot wait for the summer. Seriously.

Also, writing is still very much on my mind so here is a poem Iwrote:

My Dove

Gnawing into my deepest fear.
Letting go, knowing what lies near.
Living to the fullest with my love,
or watching her fly away like a dove.

Glowing skin with eyes that shimmer.
Her face painted in my mind that glimmers.
Should I let her fly to the above,
or waste my tender heart on a dove?
I love that one :)

New York City pictures are very soon to come!!!

These are a Few of my Favorite Things!

Well, I have recently been obsessed with quite a few things, from Smashbook's to The Hunger Games. It's a wide variety and I decided I would list them out and tell you what they are! Here are a few of my favorite things, number one being the best in the world!

1. Neal Shusterman-
So this guy is the most amazing author in the world, atleast through my eyes. I read any of his books I can get my hands on, and he is the greatest. I have raved about his books (The Skinjacker Trilogy, Bruiser, The Schwa Was Here etc.) and I am so excited for Challenger Deep to come out! Also, Unwind (One of his best) is being made into a movie, which I will see with some of my friends when it comes out! I love him SO much, and he is my favorite thing ever.

2. The Hunger Games-

I am obsessed with The Hunger Games trilogy! I love love love the characters (especially Peeta Mellark) and how Katniss fights for what she believes in! (Unlike that annoying Bella character from Twilight, a series I despise.) I am seeing the movie (25 days!) at midnight with my BBF Kennedy Reeves, and apparently they are handing out pins? I dunno, but I really hope they do >:)

3. Smashbook's-

This is me and my Smashbook I got on Saturday! It's the "Simple Style" and it's really cool. They are kinda like scrapbooks, but simpler. You can put anything you want in there! It comes with accesories and things you can buy to make it all fancy! Made by k&company, they are really great for just about anyone.

4. The Civil Wars-

This is a band of two people (John-Paul White and Joy Williams), a piano, and a guitar. I love their music, especially these songs: Poison & Wine, Barton Hollow, and C'est la Mort. They won two Grammy's and were the opening act for Taylor Swift when she preformed there. They also were featured in Safe & Sound from the Hunger Games soundtrack, that's where I first heard about them. Their music is kind of folk/country, but it doesn't sound like regular country songs. It's somewhat confusing, but I love them a lot ;)

5. Adele-

I really don't care what anyone else says about Adele, she is marvelous. She knows exactly who she is and has a ton of talent. She also isn't afraid to show what she's thinking at all, and she is also just downright beautiful. Her music is amazing, and I think she is one of the best singers out there! -give me a fangirl moment- I love you Adele!! -done- ;)

So yes, these are a few of my favorite things! (Notice The Sound of Music reference there?) Well, there you have it!

Thanks for reading,
Livi <3

Marlowe!!

My BFFUTEOT told me to make a post about her, so here it is!!

Post about Marlowe Toney.

Snow!

Today, we had something we rarely get here in Lubbock Texas. . . SNOW! It began falling on my side of town at about eight a.m. and I went outside and took pictures in it, very happily. I am desperetaly hoping to have a snow day tomorrow, or atleast a delay so I can not have to be dragged out of bed by my mother. It's 2:51 right now, and the snow is still thundering down. My family and I went out to get some last minute gifts for my boyfriend Chris, (But I'm not gonna say what they are just in case he's reading this(;) and we nearly drove into a ditch. Yep, the entire time my mother was going: "Oh, Jesus! Oh, Jesus!" and I found it hysterical. We have a blue table on our porch that has survived through a ten day ice-storm in Kentucky, but right now it looks like this:

I honestly cannot believe it hasn't collapsed. Oh, and the lights behind it are still shining. I guess the St. Peter's get pretty good quality items. I also would like to say I got a book called Clockwork Angel , the prequel to the Infernal Devices series. My good friend from Kentucky, John Burke, said it was phenomonal. (I believe that's how you spell it, but I could be seriously incorrect)

Oh, and also I just realized HOT TOPIC IS SELLING HUNGER GAMES SHIRTS!!!! I get a mini heart-attack everytime I say that. Sorry, it just kinda popped into my head, so I decided to share ;)

Here are the pictures I took that I was talking to you about in my first paragraph. The sky is totally grey and it makes it hard to look at the ground, because your eyes start to hurt because the snow is so white.

This is my new profile picture on Facebook, just sayin'.
This is something I drew in the snow for Chris!! The wierd little plus sign looking thing by my name is an and sign btw, it looks all awkward and deformed so i decided to share that. Chris has been feeling "under the weather" the past few days, so I decided to post this on Facebook to let him know I miss him!! :D

Well, that's about it for this week, I hope everyone has a lovely Valentine's Day and let's pray for a snow day!! (No rhyme intended)

Superbowl and New Hair!!

Hey! It's me and for once my post isn't gonna be about writing! I'm gonna be short and sweet today, because I don't have all that much to talk about except:

My new hair!!! It's blackish, you can still see some of the blonde but once I wash it a few times I'm sure it'll be gone. I guess I was kinda tired of being blonde, but I am gonna miss being one of two seventh grade blonde girls at my school. Me and my BFF Rachel. She's beast. Nuff said ;) The first thing I ever said to her was:

"Excuse me could you please get your bag off my foot?" Haha, thats how I became peanut butter. THE END. hehe, nice story huh? We are both somewhat insane, we went to a halloween lock in as Bacon and Eggs. I was the egg. She was the bacon. Christian was THE KNIGHT. XD Haha, that night was beast. . . Especially considering almost all of us had all region the night after it and we kinda blew out our voices XD.... Ohhh choir. I <3 y'all. Here's a pic of me and rachel. It was hat day, but I decided to dress up like a pig (hence the pink long shirt). She wore a barret and I called her Raquel the rest of the day:

Sooo, the Superbowl is on tonight at 5:30! My family is for the Patriots because my mom thinks their players are cuter than the ones on the Giants. We don't really like either teams, but oh well XD So what team are you on?

Also, last week I told you I would show you a picture of the piece of paper with all of my editing stuff on it after I had made my short story excerpt thingy. Well here it is:

Haha, I am OCD all the way when it comes to my writing. I could hardly even read it when I was trying to type it on here XD So there you have it, me and my obsessiveness. Stay great and root for the Patriots!

To Whom it May Concern and Other Junk

Soooooooo the other day I went to rehearsal with my dad and (no offense) but I didn't really have much to do. . . So I ripped a piece of notebook paper away from my binder and just kinda began writing. Afterwards, I became my same ole' OCD self and went through and edited it like crazy. . . O.O' I'm gonna post a picture, when I become all energetic and want to do something like that. So edited and all that jazz, here is kind of a weird little excerpt from the story To Whom it May Concern ;D

As we arrived in the hospital I felt ready to hit something. It didn't seem fair Char and I walked away with only sprains and bruises while Maddox was almost turned inside out. The doctors had rushed my little sister back to an operating room and dumped Char and me into one of those small rooms that has the annoying curtain. You know, the ones with those cheerful little ducky and kitten prints, trying to make you perky but nothing about an E.R. was never perky. Though, our curtain was slightly ajar, and I could peer from the bed and watch the nurses that rushed past. It slightly offended me, for they acted like we weren't even there! The two teenage girls who had just escaped death.

Char's voice jarred me from my thoughts. She had walked into the room, and I was somewhat guilty for not even realizing she had left.  "Mom and Dad are on their way."

That certainly grabbed my attention, "Are they close? Do they know about Maddox? Are they mad?" Sighing, Char slumped down in the lumpy bed next to mine and rubbed a bandage that had been wrapped around her hand to stop it from bleeding anymore.

"Yes, no, and furious."

That was the moment I began to sob. It wasn't because I feared my parents, but it seemed to be the only time I was allowed to cry. I had been trying to be strong through it all, and show my sister I was mature enough to handle the whole ordeal. Flinging myself into Charrollette's arms, I cried and wailed until. . . well, I can't really remember.

It took around nine minutes for our parents to get there. I had to tell my Mother what had happened to us because Char and Dad had gone to see how Maddox was fairing. Mom dumped her heavy purse onto a tiny nightstand table and dumped herself into a chair. I don't think she could even glance at me until I was done, because I had blood matted in my hair, my wrist was sprained and I had bruises covering my entire body.

I must admit, I watered down the accident a little. I didn't tell her about when we flew, head on, into the stop sign the blue Kia had refused to stop at.  Her mouth widened with every word that slipped from my mouth, and once I had finished, it was as large as the Grand Canyon.

"Oh, Thalie. . . ." She continued to mumble throughout my tellings. Once I was done, her green eyes collided with my blue ones, sorrow and sadness dancing through her pupils. Though, it was suddenly replace with something I had never seen from her in my entire life. Fire.

It was frightening, and I was so thankful when my father and sister walked in. I wouldn't be for long.

His eyes were red. Her eyes were puffy. No.

The doctor fumbled in. My father collapsed into a chair and broke down in tears. No!

The doctor mumbled words my ears refused to listen to, but there were three that assaulted them anyway.

"Maddox is dead."

Spinning. Crumbling. Falling. Sobbing. Weeping. Screaming. Punching. Begging. Pleading. Pacing. Kicking. Holding. Praying. Blackness.

Okay, so I know the very last part doesn't make much sense with the whole -ing words and then the random: Blackness. It's because Thalie blacks out after doing all those things. I plan on changing the words so there are three for each stage of grief. It's kinda confusing, but insted of going on to the last stage, accepting, Thalie's mother stops at anger. Thats what causes them to move and so on and so forth ;)

There you have it, some of my latest writings and other things that I am to tired to go into further detail with.

Books, Coffee, and Neal Shusterman

I decided to share with you all an amazing bookstore/coffeeshop thingy today me and my dad found called Hardback Cafe. It is my new alltime favorite bookstore because they had ANTSY DOES TIME written by the AMAZING Neal Shusterman. Now I have read:

  • Everlost
  • Everwild
  • Everfound
  • Bruiser
  • Unwind
  • Downsiders
  • The Eyes of Kid Midas
  • (Halfway through) Full Tilt
  • (Got this one along with Antsy) Speeding Bullet
  • The Schwa Was Here
I HIGHLY suggest checking out his books, any of them are amazing. The reason he is my favorite author is because any one of his books I pick up, I am instantly hooked. Susan Collins didn't do that for me when I read The Hunger Games, then tried to read Gregor the Overlander. Erin Hunter (Vicky Holmes, Kate Cary, Cherith Baldry, and Tui Sutherland) didn't do that for me when I read Warriors, then tried to read Seekers. I first read The Skinjacker Trilogy by Neal Shusterman because chapter two (When Leif is parading through his forest from tree to tree) was on our first six weeks reading test, and once I read the entire series, I was itching to read more. After the trilogy I read Downsiders, which was marvolously crafted. Seriously, who thinks of setting up a city underneath the "topside" made of subway tunnels?! AMAZING. Then I read Unwind, and that book made me want to be an author.

It was fantabulous as my BBF would put it, with the three main characters running for their lives trying to stay alive. No. Not alive. In their own state of mind. They are running from being "unwound", where parents can have their unwanted teenagers be taken apart peice by peice and donated to sick patients. Oh my goodness that book was amazing. I'm gonna stop now because I will probably tell the entire book chapter by chapter if I continue. . .

Afterwards, I read Bruiser. That honestly might be my favorite Neal Shusterman book because of the poetry. Brewster seems like the horrid person through Tennyson's POV, but once it changes to Brewster's, you will sob loudly into your pillow. I love the way he describes the cafeteria as high schoolers practicing the art of preening and grooming one another. When his uncle hits Cody, but the pain goes to the Bruiser I was so prepared to leap into the story and drag those poor people out! Anyway, if you could only read one book in your entire life, this one better be it.

Now I am being thrashed about through Full Tilt, an incredible novel by the amazing Neal Shusterman, about a boy named Blake who's soul was thrust into- well. You'll have to read it first.

Writing!!

Alright, I came up with a short story (one page long) right before our math exams in December. It's in third person, because as I told you I don't really like writing in first person. It's really only titled EXAMS, and Meloni is me. It's kinda a stupid name but only because I wrote it in maybe five or ten minutes. ;D Here you go:

Exams

Tapping her pencil eagerly, Meloni sat shivering in her chair. The nerves rolled off her in waves and she twirled her hair throughout her fingers.
When Mrs. Baker began to pass out the thick packets, her nerves began to cede. Landing with a heavy THUMP on the desk was the item she had been dreading for two months. MATH it read, in bold and underlined letters. "Could they make it anymore obvious?" she mumbled to her shoes clicking together under the black table.
"Begin." The principal crackled into the over head speaker.
Flipping her test over and diving head first into algebra hadn't been as hard as Meloni had thought it would be. The problems were a whole grade-level easier than the long order of operations given to her at home by her Dad.
Getting the results back was fun-filled and easy going Getting a 92% was much better than Meloni expected herself to get, but the speaker crackled to life once more, "Next up, Social Studies!"

Alright that's it, and it was only one page long, so it wasn't all that impressive. Not as much detail as I usually would like to get into a story I've written, but oh well. Written in five minutes!! ;D Next up is only an idea I came up with about three days ago in Market Street. . . . I'm gonna call it To Whom it May Concern, kinda like the song by The Civil Wars.

To Whom it May Concern

Nathalia (Referred to as Thalie) and her sisters Charrollette (Char) and Maddox get in a car accident. Her youngest sister, Maddox, age six, passes away even before they can reach a hospital. Thalie and Char's mother goes bonkers and cannot handle it whatsoever. She ups her family and moves them across the country to Oregon in an already furnished home. (She left all of their belongings in New Jersey, where they had lived)
Thalie finds a desk in her room with a few belongings of the family that lived in the house before them. She realizes a girl her age had lived before her in the house, and finds an envelope in chicken scratch handwriting labeled: "To Whom it May Concern". Pulling it open, all inside of it is a key. She checks all the doors in the house and finds that the key doesn't fit into any of the key holes. She gives up and tosses the key back onto the desk. Though, not long after she finds a bookcase with many classics and a worn leather book resting on its top shelf. She picks up the leather book and realizes there is a key hole in the side and the book is labeled: "To Whom it May Concern". The key fits, and finds its a diary written by a girl named Keller, who's sister was murdered but her case was never solved. Thalie and Char go on an adventure to unravel the mystery behind Keller's sister's murder.

There you have it! PLease give me suggestions for Keller's sister's name, because I have no idea what it should be XD

Thanks for reading!!!!

Dancing is something I discovered last year in sixth grade. At first I was VERY skeptic, because when I was younger I absolutely despised dance. But, because my principal couldn't fit CA (Competitive Athletics) into my schedule, I figured dance was the next best thing. I got all the things I would need (very unhappy it was all black might I add) and I borded the bus for eigth period every day that year. I knew I would hate it from the start, but I kept my feelings to myself and prepared to dress out every day.

Boy, was I wrong?! I met so many amazing new people, and we all had SO much fun! I thought, 'It could not get any bette than this!' Wrong again. I discovered something called Dance Troupe, an extra-ciricular dance class with our same teacher for seventh and eigth graders. Me and many of my friends decided to audition at the end of the year, wanting to have even more time together after school and to get a chance to preform for our friends at pep rallies.

The auditions were in April, and it was two days long. The first day we learned the dance, the second we auditioned with the dance and showed the judges kicks, chaines, pirohuettes, and other stuff I probably won't be able to spell correctly. It was hard, but in my group I was with  my friend Channing and two girls from Hutch (BOO!!) I didn't know. Nervous, with my knees knocking, I hustled in there, unsuccessfully tried to do a double pirohuette, did an alright axel (being taught it the day before by my Annie choreographer, Kyla!), and did some pretty beast right leaps.

"The list," my dance teacher told the mass of girls, sweating in their leotards and tights, "will be posted tonight at about nine on the door of the studio. There will be 12 to 18 girls accepted." A nervous murmur swept across the room like a wave. We nodded and drew numbers from a hat, deciding what order we would go in. At first I got 42. I shook my head and told my dance teacher, "I have rehearsal for Annie. I need a lower number if I want to make it on time." She laughed and hand picked the number nine. Which was great, because my lucky number is 8.

So anyway, I got in (freaking out in the process) and this week we are doing two preformances. One is at the eigth grade boys basketball game on Monday, and the other is at our Magnet Open house! (Both are at OL if you want to come see either one!) We have a very challenging dance to learn, but we finished it on Tuesday and today we got our spots. Of course, all of us wanted to know where we were, and could hardly stand it until our teacher told us to line up how she told her. You see, I love this dance, and I wanted SO badly to be able to do a toe touch at the beginning of a dance. Our teacher told us a bit of good news though, "Because you all were very confident in our audition for your spots, you all get to do toe touches!" HUZZAH!

So yeah, we do some really EPIC stuff in that dance, but I won't tell you because I want my parents to be suprised when they watch it at the basketball game on Monday.

Thanks for reading!
Livi

PS: Next post will be some more writing. A one page paper I did to let out how nervous I was before the semester tests last year. But it's not in first person POV. I hate first person. Wait. I'm using it right now. Nevermind.

My Night with the Werewolf

How many of you have a little brother or sister? I have a little brother, and his name is Aidan. He is six years old, and can be the biggest pain in the world. But he can also be the smartest and sweetest little boy ever. Tonight was one of those nights! We went out and got Domino's pizza, and he and I sat in the car while our mom was inside getting it all. He told me he was a werewolf and that his immortal enemy were vampires. I suppressed laughter and responded eagerly, "But... I AM a vampire!"

He said back, matter-of-factly, "No, Sissy. Vampire's have white faces and red eyes. And I've never seen you at any vampire conventions." We continued to bicker all throughout the car ride home, and I was laughing hysterically on the inside. Oh, but it didn't stop there!

When we got home, my mom told us to grab some pizza and do our homework. I got two pieces and he got one, he pulled out spelling while I pulled out probabilities, angles, and fractions. Then the discussion began. Honestly I have NO idea how it started, but I was trying to teach him how to multiply. He looked at me and rolled his eyes (it was HILARIOUS because he had pizza and Big Red smeared all over his face), "Sissy. I don't know HOW to do multiplickacation." I smiled, and we began to work again. He continued to tell me how much he enjoyed math, so I asked him what he wanted to be when he grows up.

"I want to be a police man." Aidan said, keeping his head lowered so he could continue studying his spelling words.

"If you couldn't be a police man what would you be?"

"I wouldn't be anything. Because police mans get to shoot guys, electrify them, and save the world from villains. If I couldn't be a police man I wouldn't do anything. Being a police man is the job of my life. But if I got shot, my days would be numbered." He looked down at his work, but quickly looked back up. With his red mustache from his drink he whispered to me, "What does 'my days are numbered' mean?"

I giggled then asked him another question, "How was school today?"

"Good."

"Gimme details."

"Okay. Um. What are details again?"

That is pretty much my night with my little brother. Even though sometimes I am entirely prepared to throw him out a window, he's always there to talk to. If you are constantly fighting with a little sibling, I suggest talking to them over dinner or something like that. Not only because you want to be nice and good to them, also so you can go blog about it for entertainment purposes ;)

Poet in the Making

Poetry!! Something I am trying my VERY hardest to get better at ;) Here's a poem I wrote about the summer of 2011! This is the summer we did Annie, and I met my AMAZING "orphans", as we call each other. It's titled The Summer of Our Dreams. I know, kinda cliche, but oh well ;) Here it is: (Feel free to put CONSTRUCTIVE criticism in the little comment box, but please don't put something mean in there that will turn me into a depressed blob ;) )

The Summer of Our Dreams <3

 The grass between our toes
The ring around the Rosie
The moonlight bathing the backyard
The campouts and the memories

Running through sprinklers
 Leaping from tree to tree
Singing as loud as a mockingbird
Falling into the glassy surface of an empty pool

When we danced until 2 am in the morning.
When we painted our nails and laughed hysterically at nothing.
When we dressed up like celebrities and talked in funny accents
When I found my best friends
When I had the best summer of my life

There ya go!! So as my first writing post on here, I'm pretty proud of it, especially when you consider the fact I wrote it in like maybe 10 minutes. It just kinda popped into my head, and I didn't really edit it, and I also put it in the notes section in my iPod, so please excuse any typos made by auto correct!! Thanks for reading!

Here we go....

Well, okay! This is my first ever blog, and I am SO excited. This blog will mainly be for some of my writings, maybe book reviews, and my life! So if you're willing to listen I'll tell you a bit about myself. . . . . I come from a theater family, my dad is a director and theater historian and my mom is a drama teacher. I guess I take after them when it comes to what I do for fun, for instance I was Annie in the musical Annie last summer and I'm in dance troupe at my school! I love all my friends that I get to be in dance with, and every Tuesday and Thursday we freak out over shiny pom poms and see how many toe touches we can do without getting tired. We all go to the same school, so we get to see each other often. In this picture (Not the one were I have red hair, the one were we're in the red sparkly tops) I am in the bottom right hand corner. Yeah. The one with the crazy blonde hair. And I know what you're thinking, because I get this question A LOT. Is her hair natural?! Yes. It is naturally crazy blonde with random highlights underneath, and I love it and despise it at the same time!

Another thing I like to tell people is that I was born in Virginia, then moved to Kentucky when I was five, and moved to Texas when I was 11. Almost all of my family lives on the east coast, but my Aunt and Uncle and all my cousins live in Dallas, so thankfully we get to see them a lot more often then my grandparents. I also have a lot of friends in Kentucky, mainly my BEST FRIEND Marlowe. Actually, I think we had like three sleepovers in a row three days before I moved, so she was there when I nearly fell off the little ramp thingy that connected the truck to our porch.
This was our fifth grade graduation

I have a little brother, he's six, about to be seven in March, and he plays indoor soccer and is about to start up baseball. Speaking of sports, I play basketball. I am on A team for my school! Here's a REALLY bad picture:
Yeah, we are about to finish up the season, and it has been complete with the largest bruise I've ever seen in my entire life on my knee. I have the best teammates, including my friend Isys, whom I am going to NYC with this spring break! Well, it's a school trip, but she's going, and so is my friend Channing (She's in dance troupe with me). Okay I need to tell you about someone else, and she is AMAZING. My BBF KENNEDY!! We were both Annie together, because it was double cast! So yeah we were kinda bbf's from the start, and she is the most EPIC person you will ever meet! Here's a picture of us:
That's from when we went to San Antonio together, WE WERE GOIN' TO SCHLITTERBAHN! THE HOTTEST COOLEST TIME IN TEXAS! ;D BEST VACATION EVER. So yeah!

This is pretty much my life! My family, my friends, and such! Oh yeah, before I go I want to warn you, I will talk about Neal Shusterman A LOT. He is epic. Nuff said! Thanks for viewing! Happy MLK day!
